Light, spacious and eco-friendly contemporary prefab house in the heart of Dublin

Built a stone’s throw away from Dublin’s city centre, it’s easy to forget you’re in an urban area when you step through the front door of this property. With three floors, including one below ground level, this striking prefabricated home was the outcome of extensive client consultation and an exceptional level of expertise. Outside, the design makes use of large windows to flood the interior with natural light.

As with all of our prefab homes, triple-glazed aluminium and timber windows were used on every floor of the house for dramatically improved temperature regulation throughout the year. The interior was designed closely with the couple, who opted for Scandinavian-esque minimalist fittings and a pared-back colour palette they could build upon with their personal possessions, for a spacious, light and inviting aesthetic. A large-scale sliding door invites the homeowners to venture into their garden, where they can enjoy meals in the sunshine with family and friends during the warmer summer months.

Since our inception over 55 years ago, a commitment to building eco-friendly homes has been at the core of every WeberHaus design and innovation to date. In each build, we embrace Passive Haus - an integrated approach to sustainability, where we put reduced energy consumption at the forefront of each decision. Thanks to our award-winning philosophy, WeberHaus prefabricated homes consume less than a quarter of the energy used by standard homes. Throughout the entire design and construction process, we pay attention to the technicalities to ensure our homes are as eco-friendly as possible.

From sophisticated materials and build techniques to airtight windows and heat recovery ventilation, we make sure that nothing too is dismissed. Kitted out with the latest in sustainable technology, all of our timber frame homes, including this one in Dublin, benefit from higher levels of comfort and significantly reduced energy bills.
